Do you know the difference between light, diet, and zero foods and beverages? Here are some tips for you to improve your eating
habits by making healthy and balanced food choices.

some nutrient, usually sugar, fats, or sodium. Diet foods can also
have lower levels of other nutrients for people with special dietary

Zero: when a food or beverage indicates that it has completely
removed one or more ingredients from the regular product. Commonly,
calories, sugar, sodium, or fats are removed.
However, take care when buying these foods, because when one
nutrient is removed or decreased, sometimes the amount of another is
increased. Sometimes, a diet food can have much more sodium or fat,
example, than the regular version.
As doctors say, for every patient, a different treatment. Therefore, a
professional should be contacted before starting a diet.​

✔ Some foods / drinks are known as "zero". These are

nothing more than diet products, in which they do not

contain a certain nutrient. Diet foods / beverages have

the same guidelines as for light foods / beverages for sugars.
