Yesterday was Saturday. John took his girlfriend Helen out for dinner. The restaurants were full of people because many people go out on Saturday nights. John and Helen had to wait for a table. They waited for over an hour at the bar. During that time John had two shots of scotch and Helen two cocktails. They didn`t mind waiting because the piano player was very good and the music nice and romantic.
Finally the maitre showed them to their table. The restaurant wasn`t as pleasant as the bar because many people were talking but very few were listening.
Helen ordered steak with fried onions and French fries and apple pie with ice cream for dessert. John had tomato salad, fish and fruit salad for dessert. They had wine with their meal and coffee with the dessert. The food wasn`t very good but it is never really good on Saturday nights.
They left the restaurant and went to a discotheque. Again to more people and a lot of noise.
